Whist Drive

A successful whist drive was held at the Working Men's Club on Wednesday evening.

There were 44 present, and the prize-winners were as follows:

Ladies - 1 Mr W. Watson (playing as lady), 172; 2 Miss L. Clark, 172. Highest score first-half, Mr E. Pledger, 92; lowest, Mr W. Gilby.

Gents - 1 Mr C. Baker, 181; 2 Mr A. Postle, 171. Highest score second half, Mr Francis, 84; lowest, Mr C. Crane.

Mr H. Clark was M.C.

Thirty players took part in the whist drive held at the Workmens Club on Wednesday evening.

Mr H. Clark acted as M.C., and the following gained the prizes: Ladies - 1 Mrs B.E. Thody, 2 Mr B. Nicholls (playing as lady). Gents - 1 Mr J. Handy, 2 Mr E. Ward.

Lowest scores: lady, Miss Lushington; gent, Mr S. Howlett

A whist drive in aid of the Buntingford Working Men's Club was held at the Club Room on Wednesday evening.

Mr H. Clarke was M.C., and voucher prizes were awarded to the following: Ladies - 1, Mr B. Nicholls (playing as lady), 169; 2, Miss L Clark, 165. Gents - 1, Mr H Clark, 168; 2, Mr W. Budd, 168.

A pleasant evening was spent by those who participated in the Football Club whist drive at the Foresters' Hall on Wednesday evening.

Mr H. Clark was M.C., and the prizewinners were: Ladies - 1 Miss M. Cornwell, 2 Mrs H. Clark; Gents - 1 Mr Care, 2 Mr S. Smith.
